  • Crop production systems
  • Livestock production systems
  • Processing strategies
  • Supply chains
  • Environmental impact
  • Dissemination

The congress is organized in parallel with the Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture in the German speaking countries. More about the congress

Between tradition and globalisation

The topic of the 9th German Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture is how organic agriculture is increasingly affected by the growing discrepancy between local and global production. The conference is taking place at the university of Hohenheim, March 20 – 23, 2007. More about the conference

Workshop on self-sufficiency in organic farming

A precondition for consumer confidence and progress in the development of organic food systems is that organic production takes place in accordance with organic principles and thereby constitutes a genuine alternative to conventional food production.

The objective of a workshop to be held March 21 n connection with the QLIF congress is to elucidate research initiatives contributing to self-sufficiency in organic farming, and in this way inspire and enhance international and transnational research cooperation. More about the workshop

International Conference on Organic Agriculture and Food Security

FAO is organising an international conference in order to examine potentials of organic agriculture in relations to food security. The conference takes place in Rome, 03 - 05 May 2007. Further information at www.fao.org/organicag/default.htm

Call for papers to EurSafe 2007

Challenges and limitations in organic farming

The 3rd NJF Congress 2007 takes place in Copenhagen on 26-29 June 2007. As part of the congress a a seminar on "Challenges and limitations in organic farming" will deals with some of the fundamental challenges in organic farming. The organic farming practices are governed by regulations for the specific country and by the growing conditions. The main aim in organic farming research is to improve the sustainability with respect to production, environmental effects, economy, and human and animal welfare. However, these intentions may counteract each other and the regulations may in some cases impede improvements of the sustainability. Therefore, all improvements within single disciplines must be evaluated in a whole-system and long-term context, and the weak links must be identified to improve the sustainability.
