Organic Eprints among 20 most preferred web sources

Organic Eprints has been added to Scirus as one of 20 preferred web sources. Scirus is an Elsevier site recognized to be one of the most comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet. The search engine covers 250 million science-related web pages

The addition of Organic Eprints to Scirus list of preferred web sources means that Organic Eprints now range in same category as the archives of NASA, arXiv.org e-Prints, BioMed Central, CogPrints and other leaders in the field.

European Conference on new approaches in food quality analysis

14 - 15 September 2006 the second European Conference on new approaches in food quality analysis will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany at the Federal Research Centre for Nutrition and Food.

The background for the conference is a growing demand for organic food driven primarily by consumers’ perceptions of the quality and safety of these foods and of the positive environmental impact of organic agriculture practices. This growth in demand is expected to continue in the near future. A scientifically based quality system to back consumers’ perceptions of organic foods is essential to sustain this marked growth.

Scientific book on long term field experiments in organic farming

The first volume of the ISOFAR Scientific Series has now been published. This book series presents the results of organic farming research carried out by members of the ISOFAR working group on long-term field experiments (LTE).

The volume "Long Term Field Experiments in Organic Farming" contains a selection of 12 long-term experiments conducted under different site conditions in Germany, the USA, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and Israel. Each experiment has a unique concept and scientific approach. But their common objective is to investigate characteristics of Organic Agriculture regarding key parameters of soil fertility, crop yield and quality.
